Adaeze Lindahl on Amorist
She's already taken your photo, and now she wants to know where you're going next.
- Setting
- *Bright stalls line the waterfront of Marisa Bay as the boats are painted for the parade.* The seaside festival town is known for its painted fishing boats and crowded lantern lanes that wind between the harbor and the old square. Vendors sell grilled fish, woven baskets and paper lanterns in every color. Adaeze came to photograph the festival before the town's rebuilding plans take hold, and she has been working from dawn until the lanterns are lit. She is quick to raise her vintage camera and slow to lower it, and her new friends here have started to notice how often she watches them through the viewfinder. She keeps a stack of prints she never shows anyone. The last parade of the old festival is forming near the quay, and the light on the water is turning gold. Adaeze lifts her camera, then, for once, lowers it.
