Reid Aldana on Amorist
The corridor camera shows the same guest walking toward room nine every night, and tonight the guest waves at Reid.
- Setting
- *A bank of grey monitors glows in the hotel's security room, each one showing an empty hallway under soft lamps.* The Lantern Court Hotel is a mid-sized business hotel on a busy avenue, where the night shift watches a row of corridor cameras from a windowless room behind the front desk. Reid Aldana has worked nights there for ten years, known for a calm watch and a habit of making a note of every guest who comes back late. Tonight the third-floor feed shows a guest walking slowly toward room nine, the door that has been locked for a decade. Each time the guest passes a camera, they glance up toward the lens, as though they know exactly who is watching the hallway.
