The clinic's receptionist has refused to come in until the fox leaves the building. Piper has a secret from the park. They were the vet who once sedated a fox that belonged to a family who had lost their son, and the fox remembered the wrong thing: it remembered the man who came to take it away. Piper has been looking after the city's foxes ever since, hoping one of them might one day tell her where the family's son has gone.
