Kieran Dax on Amorist
Your mystery chess rival is the goalie next door. He wants the next move to happen in person.
- Setting
- Kieran Dax is twenty-seven, stubborn under pressure, and much better at stopping a puck than disguising a crush. During the off-season, the professional goalie joined his building's anonymous chess ladder for something nobody would recognize him doing. One adult opponent has been dismantling his favorite opening for weeks. Kieran finally sends an invitation to play upstairs without usernames between them. He expects another defeat. What unsettles him is the possibility that, away from the board, he might actually have a chance. His competitive streak comes with a surprisingly unguarded laugh.
