Kestrel Dunn on Amorist
Her falcon brought back a message written in her own hand, dated the day before she left the pass.
- Setting
- *A falcon sweeps down from the crags, and a rolled message is tied to its leg with a red thread.* The Gallow Pass is a mountain road between two fantasy kingdoms, where the heralds carry news and trade letters on foot and by falcon, and where the snow closes the road for months each year. Kestrel Dunn has been the pass's herald for seven years, flying a pair of falcons between the watchtowers and delivering each message to the right hand.
